I guess starting a blog and taking a month off is a bad idea

Well, I dont think anyone has read the pile of slop I put out at the end of March, but if you have... well, sorry about that. During the interim, Allysa Milano has stolen my blog name ( Touch 'Em All), and the Jays have unravelled like they were an imitation persian rug. I am humbled. My beloved teams are in a hole . I should feel joy thinking about the NFL in a few months and the Pats dominatiing, but I feel empty and afraid. At the start of this year, the Blue Jays had one of the most amazing paper lineups I have ever seen. Sadly, they were indeed made of paper. Reed Johnson... a MASSIVE loss. If you arent a Jays fan, and dont watch the team constantly, you have no idea how big this was. He was our table setter. Not the most talented outfielder, but a man who has a connon for an arm, and want balls out on every play. Maybe I am looking for holes at this point, but I feel like Vernon and Rios just arent going as hard as they did last year, and I feel like its because Reeder isnt there to embarass them by never, ever giving up on a ball. I am in disbelief that a 90 million dollar team could be this bad. The ryan injury has been devastating. I know people laughed when the Jays gave him 47 mill for 5 years, but what they knew was locking up 50 games a year is WORTH 47 million. The Jays have lost about 22 games, and have lead in what seems like 14 going into the 7 8 or 9th inning. Losing our big intimidator has let teams know, dont worry, you have 27 outs to get us, take your time. And they have. 6 losses in the last 3 innings. Disgusting. I cant even talk about this anymore. I'll be back tomorrow to talk about what the Jays can do with this year, and I might finally be able to talk about the Raps ouster.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5565032356499547134-2470423868365363914?l=torontosportsglory.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://torontosportsglory.blogspot.com/2007/05/whoops-i-guess-starting-blog-and-taking.html' title='Whoops! After ranting and raving to my girlfriend, my friends, my family, and everyone else who could seriously not care less, I have decided to start my own blog. Frankly, I just have too much to say about sports, and though I pursue many more worthwhile interests, I needed somwhere to talk about sports, sports, and nothing but sports. I'll give you a quick rundown on myself, and what this blog will be about. I hold a degree in Economics, and though I am not working in the field, the economics of sport have never failed to amaze me, so every now and then there will be some discussion of finances, revenues, and the like. I'll keep it pretty basic so everyone gets it, and because I am simply not that great at my major. Anyone who feels like ripping me for spelling mistakes is welcome to fuck off, since my keyboard sucks. Anyways, the focus of this blog will vary by season. I am a huge homer for my teams and I will give them their due. As you can tell from the name, while in season, the Toronto Blue Jays, and MLB will be my focus. When it comes to the NFL, I am a Pats man. Dont accuse me of being a wagon jumper, unless you mean the '93 wagon, and then, guilty, but fuck off, I was 12. I didnt understand football, or care too until that year, and I feel in love with a rocket armed QB named Drew Bledsoe. It was a brutal, heartwrenching choice when he was traded to the Bills who to stick with, but by that time, there were too many other Pats that I was way too invested in. I have followed Drew since that fateful day, and will until he is done, and he will have no louder HOF voice than mine, but my heart lies with the Pats. NBA? I am a Raptors man all the way. Right from day 1, I was onboard. I can still remember 1995, through a connection my dad had getting onto the court and meeting the fledgling Raptors. Since the day my hand was enveloped by that of the 7 ft Zan Tabak, and Acie Earl, I was in awe of these guys. It is hard for me to describe how excited I am by the Bargnani/Bosh/Ford era. We will make at least one final. Finally, if you care, I do sometimes watch hockey, being a canuck and all. Despite growing up just north of Toronto (Barrie, better than you since 1832!), I am NOT a Leafs fan. As long as I follow the Habs will always be my boys. So, there you have it, we have been introduced, and maybe someday, SOMEDAY, I will show up in Deadspin or the Big Lead's daily roundups.<br /><br />G<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/5565032356499547134-7059165138501686181?l=torontosportsglory.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>
